On average, CHALK conducts 90 hours of outreach a week throughout San Francisco. Outreach is delivered through youth-led public speaking, school-based outreach and community-based outreach.
CHALK's outreach program goals include:
- Promotion of CHALK's programs and services
- Providing information, resources, and training to youth in the community and in schools
- Building relationships with other youth organizations, city-wide, to form collaborations that benefit youth in San Francisco
CHALK has been noted for the exceptional field work being done in reaching high-risk populations. As the years have progressed, the outreach team has changed and developed to better serve young people, strategically mapping out every community and employing youth from those communities as outreach workers to serve their peers.
