YOUTH FUNDING YOUTH IDEAS

Youth Funding Youth Ideas (YFYI) is a youth-led program that funds youth-led projects in San Francisco that benefit the community. YFYI is composed of 15 youth from various backgrounds between the ages of 14-18. Our youth staff makes funding decisions of up to $10,000 per youth project, totaling $150,000 per year. Our staff consists of Program Officers and Youth Evaluators.

As a youth-led grant-making program youth are employed as program officers and evaluators. Youth are responsible for making all grant decisions, they provide support and assistance to youth people applying for grants, evaluate projects, and collect data about projects and participants. Youth receive extensive and ongoing training to enhance their ability to make funding decisions and support youth who seek grants.
