Save a Life Employee of the Month

Because of people like you, I am here today.

Meghan Daily - I was always active and healthy, until I was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder called thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura. I needed 987 pints of blood components, which saved my life. Thanks to donors like you, I am well and have regained my energy for life.

Do you want to help save a life? Become a blood donor today! Click here to download the Donation Eligibility Guidlines. Click here to download True stories - messages from people you can help.

Please join in congratulating Elena Ortiz (YouthLine Online) for being our newest employee of the month.

Elena has been with CHALK for a couple years now and has stayed committed to developing Youthline Online. She has called hundreds of agencies, updating them in our database, and tirelessly ensures that the YL website us updated. More recently, she was a major organizer of the most recent CHALK youth graduation, managing the guest list, seat assignments and invitations. We couldn’t have pulled off the graduation with out her.

Congratulations Elena, we are lucky to have you!

Youth Funding Youth Ideas

Chinatown Alleyway Tours Program (CATs) is a youth-run and youth-led program sponsored by the Adopt-An-Alleyway Youth Project.  As a group of young leaders, their mission is to educate people about Chinatown’s rich history, current community development, and the many issues and struggles that the community had faced over the past 100 years.  This program also empowers youth by giving them an opportunity to give back to their community and to hone leadership and public speaking skills.  In turn, as tour participants, you will learn about Chinatown in a fun way and interesting way through the youth’s personal experiences and perspectives.

Thank you for your continual support!  We have just hired more tour guides to continue the education and community awareness of Chinatown.

Please show your support once again by

1) RESERVING a tour on our website at: www.chinatownalleywaytours.org
2) FORWARDING
this email to your friends, family, co-workers, and/or
3) SPREADING the word about our tours program to others  (you can print this and pass it out!; facebook, xanga, myspace, your website, etc.)

We only spread our tour program through word-of-mouth, and by doing your part, you are helping us to sustain our youth tour program.  Thank you!
